Lucho Gonzalez Wants to Leave Olympique de Marseille

Lucho Gonzalez Wants to Leave Olympique de Marseille - Olympique de Marseille midfielder Lucho Gonzalez has claimed that he could leave the club should coach Didier Deschamps depart at the end of the season.

Deschamps’ future at OM has been the subject of renewed speculation in spite of his best attempts to allay the apprehension of the fans, and although the defending French champions have recovered their form to stay in the Ligue 1 title race, there are suggestions that the 42-year-old will leave in the summer.

Lucho, signed from Portuguese giants Porto in the summer of 2009, has refused to say whether he thinks his boss will leave but admits that he will reconsider his future at Marseille if he does.

“He convinced me to come to Marseille,” the 30-year-old said in an interview with L’Equipe. “Of course, if he goes it will be difficult not only for me but for the whole team.

“But he has not said if he will stay or leave [in the summer]. The matter does not concern me directly.”

Marseille are currently second in the league standings and could close the gap on leaders Lille to just a point should they defeat Toulouse today.
